An Old Fashioned Christmas

The Eugene Concert Choir and Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble host a holiday extravaganza of carols and holiday favorites, featuring Bach’s cantata Gloria in Excelsis, accompanied by the Oregon Mozart Players. Special guests include the South Eugene High School Concert Choir, the Don Latarski Trio with Marilyn Keller, and the Fiero and Lyrica boys’ and girls’ choirs from Oregon Festival Choirs. In addition to their individual performances, the combined choirs will perform David Fanshawe’s song of peace”Dona nobis pacem” from his African Sanctus. Dance Theatre of Oregon will join the Concert Choir for a “mime/dance” of the Fred Waring “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The concert is designed to delight and enchant all ages.

Pre-concert festivities in the Hult Center lobby set a celebratory tone, with a fine brass quintet, wassail and cookies, decoration activities, and a carol singalong led by the Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble in their exquisite Elizabethan dress.
