Missa Gaia (Earth Mass) with the Paul Winter Consort
Eugene Concert Choir, Paul Winter Consort, Theresa Thomason, soloist
Diane Retallack, Artistic Director & Conductor
Integrating world music with songs from the wild to celebrate our precious earth as a sacred space, the Paul Winter Consort is a multi-Grammy-winning ensemble which combines elements from various African, Asian, and South American cultures with jazz and Gregorian chant. The Earth Mass features soprano saxophonist Paul Winter and instrumental Consort along with choir, gospel soloist Theresa Thomason, and the calls of wolves, humpback whales, and many other animals that are woven into the pieces, sometimes used as the melody. Join us and howl like a wolf!
