Missa Gaia (Earth Mass) with the Paul Winter Consort
Eugene Concert Choir, Paul Winter Consort, Theresa Thomason, soloist
Diane Retallack, Artistic Director & Conductor
Featuring seven-time Grammy® winner soprano saxophonist Paul Winter and instrumental Consort, with renowned gospel soloist Theresa Thomason and the 110-voice Eugene Concert Choir, this unique performance will leave you with a deep feeling of connection and wonderment, and an immense appreciation for our precious Earth. Voices of the wild, including howling wolves and humpback whales, are woven into the various styles of Earth music, from African, Asian and South American cultures, combined with elements of jazz and Gregorian chant.
Soloist Theresa Thomason brought down the house at our Holiday Celebration concert last year.
Paul Winter celebrates the cultures and creatures of the whole earth with his world of living music.
