We conclude this landmark season with two great masterworks of special significance to our artistic director, Dr. Diane Retallack, now celebrating her 40th season with the choir. Bach is her favorite composer, and the Bach Magnificat was the first choral work she chose to conduct in her very first season with the choir, 1985-1986. The Mozart Requiem is one of the masterworks she holds especially dear and the dramatic circumstances under which Mozart desperately fought to complete the composition add a compelling intensity to the experience.
