Orchestra Auditions

The Eugene Concert Orchestra will be holding open, blind auditions for the following tenure-track positions:

Monday, June 8, 2026:

  • Concertmaster
  • Assistant Concertmaster
  • Principal Second Violin

Tuesday, June 9, 2026:

  • Principal Bass

 

Time: Auditions will be scheduled between 4:00-9:00pm PT on the dates listed above. Specific time slots will be communicated to audition candidates in May.

 

Where: Grace Lutheran Church (710 E. 17th Ave., Eugene, OR 97401)

Application Information: Auditions are held in Eugene, Oregon, and are by appointment only. If you are interested in auditioning, please review the audition requirements below. If you decide to audition, please email your one-page resume to OrchManager@EugeneConcertChoir.org. For violin applicants, please specify which position(s) you are interested in. We will contact you as soon as auditions can be scheduled.

 

These auditions are for tenure-track positions with the Eugene Concert Orchestra, beginning in the 2026–2027 concert season. Winning candidates will be appointed to the position for which they audition.

 

Please note that we do not offer travel compensation or lodging for audition candidates.

3. Excerpt - Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night's Dream Scherzo (bars 17-99)

4. Excerpt - Mozart: Symphony No. 39, Mvt. 4 (first two pages; provided as one in PDF)

5. Excerpt - Strauss: Don Juan (first page)

6. Excerpt - Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade solos (Mvt. 2, bars 1-5; Movt. 3, 4 before L to M; Mvt. 4, bars 8-9 and bar 29)

7. Excerpt - Bach: St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Erbarme Dich solo (beginning to A)

8. Excerpt - Beethoven: Missa Solemnis (first two phrases)

 

Principal Second Violin
